Mothman Prophecies Legend

“The Legend of the Mothman” explores the strange and bizarre disturbances and strange eye witness reports connected to a creature known as the Mothman, first sighted in the Point Pleasant, West Virginia area in the sixties. Strangely, the sightings and disturbances seemed to reach a peak with several area residents sharing the same nightmare of a river disaster. On December 15, 1967, the Silver Bridge spanning the Ohio River between Point Pleasant and Gallipolis, Ohio collapsed into the frigid water, sending 46 people to their deaths. Many of those who lost their lives had reported (at one time) seeing the Mothman. Perhaps most disturbing, there were no reported sightings after the bridge accident.

  1. Very curious indeed.

  2. I might go see if that sighting is real or not. It sounds pretty interesting.

  3. The Mothman has always intrigued me. The thing that makes it seem more legit is the sightings of him worldwide just before tradgic accidents. Reports of the mothman have been reported with catastrophic events such as Chernoybl.

  7. A giant named Cecil Ferrell once lived in the area around Clendenin and Linden West Virginia. Seven feet tall–he built a single-story cabin that I have lived in, later converted to two stories, at Linden. People in that area were talking about some giant creature long before the popular culture picked it up. A little moonshine (the bottled kind), a flash of car headlights, Cecil Ferrell walking (I’ve been told he did not drive) alongside the road at night…

The Mothman coule be real, i belive that its a mutated creature. Where most of the sightings were in West virginia, were where most recycling plants and factorys that are now closed down. A owl or some creature could have got into some chemical stuff or whatever. But in the present day, people mostly report sightings of bigfoot or ghost or stuff like swamp monsters or the lizard man!

  9. Hey does anyone else notice not the same number of lights on in the windows

  10. It seems to me that the Moth Man is a warning of some kind. It was also seen in another famous bridge which collapsed. Perhaps its an omen of some kind, whatever it may really be.
